Paul Campbell: The Lost Tapes Of Somerfield
Strathduie Bar, Glasgow.
Have you ever become obsessed with a supermarket and then the unthinkable happened and it closed forever? This is the story of how a socially isolated teenager found sanctuary in his beloved crisp and confectionary aisle at his favourite branch of the 90s and 00s chain Somerfield.
With insight into what made Somerfield the perfect retailer, Paul plays original 2007 cassette recordings of him discussing the shock of his favourite branch closing and explores the 5 stages of the little known 'Supermarket Grief'. There will be memories shared, aisles mourned and a surprise performance at the end. For anyone whose ever cried when their favourite supermarket has closed down.
